It all begins with the opening of a tiny greengrocery in downtown Montreal called
Guy Fruits Store.
The business is thriving and has over
60 employees who share a love of work well done and a focus on customer service.
In addition to its retail sale of fruit and vegetables, the company ventures into wholesale distribution, supplying several businesses in Montreal, and also
expands its offering to include exotic produce.
To meet its growing need for storage space, the company buys
a 15,000-square-foot warehouse in Saint-Laurent.
The company adopts the business name “Canadawide.” Its wholesale division continues to grow.
Canadawide sells its retail division and focuses
entirely on wholesale.
Canadawide relocates to
the Marché Central.
Canadawide moves into new facilities that utilize the latest technology for preserving fruits and vegetables. The complex includes a dedicated section for storing and packaging the products distributed by Canadawide as well as a sales room designed to make the purchasing experience
more pleasant than ever.
Canadawide has been operated by the Pitsikoulis family since it was founded in 1983. The company has never forgotten its roots, building a solid reputation in the marketplace while retaining the management style of a family-run business.
Canadawide is more than just a company: it is also a workplace that fosters employee growth
and development, a fact borne out by the many team members who have been with Canadawide for decades.
